Railway Tunnel, Junction 15 M1
Major civil engineering reinforcement works involving approximately 1,500 tonnes of steel across the tunnel structure.
Major Tunnel Reinforcement
Safefix was involved in the steel fixing and reinforcement works for a major railway tunnel structure near Junction 15 of the M1 for Winvic.
The project involved approximately 1,500 tonnes of reinforcement across substantial reinforced concrete elements, including heavily reinforced base slabs, wall starters and associated structural sections.
The scale and density of the reinforcement required experienced steel-fixing teams, organised sequencing and close coordination with the wider civil engineering programme.

Large-Scale Civil Engineering
The tunnel required large quantities of reinforcement to be installed across extensive structural areas, with substantial volumes of steel concentrated within the base slab and adjoining reinforced concrete elements.
Steel fixing activities had to progress alongside the wider construction sequence, maintaining access, coordination and consistent installation standards across the structure.
At approximately 1,500 tonnes, the project demonstrates Safefix's experience working on reinforcement packages at major infrastructure scale.
